Violette Abawi
Violette Abawi joins Beacon Academy after years of language education and various leadership roles across the private and public sectors. Violette earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Jordan and then later earned her Master’s Degree in Modern Languages with a concentration in Arabic from DePaul University. For more than thirty years, Violette has been actively involved in the field of Arabic language education, fostering a deep understanding of the language and its cultural nuances. Prior to attaining her Master’s Degree, Violette held prominent leadership roles at renowned companies such as Sprint and Cisco Systems. Additionally, she has also dedicated her time and expertise to the Glenview Women’s Club, leveraging her language and business skills to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission. Prior to her experience in the technology sphere, Violette was a news broadcaster for an Arabic news channel in Chicago, Illinois and was certified to be a Human Rights Consultant from the United States Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. Violette has a cockapoo, Buddy, and three wonderful children.
