Fatema Burhani, a native of Pakistan taught at The Haverford School from 2013-2016. She was a member of the mathematics department and taught geometry, pre-calculus and honors calculus. While in Philly she was an adjunct instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and taught calculus and a proof based ideas course. Fatema moved to Illinois to study painting at the SAIC and teach calculus part-time at Northwestern University. She has lived on three different continents and has visited 24 countries so far. When not doing math she enjoys going to see theater and various art shows in the city. Fatema earned her MA in mathematics education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her BA in mathematics with a minor in economics from Mount Holyoke College.
